Step 3: Add New Person

Next, you need to click on the “Add New Person” option given at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4: Tap on “Add Child”

Thereafter, you will be given two options i.e., either to add as an adult to your household or add as a child. You need to tap on the “Add Child” option.

Step 5: Set up the Parental Controls Password for Kindle Account for Child

In the next step, you will be prompted to set up the parental controls password if you have created it already. In case, you have not created a parental controls password then you need to set up parental controls. It is the password that you will use when you want to add any book for your child. If you want that your child will not have access to all the media of the Kindle account then you need to set a password for the Kindle account that they do not know. It will restrict the child's access to those books that you do not want that your child can access. Remember that you need to enter the parental control password to exit from the child profile of Kindle when your child is using the Kindle. Your child can’t get full access to the Amazon account until they know the password for it.

Step 6: Add Your Child Name and Date of Birth

Now, you need to enter the name and date of birth of your child in the child profile on Kindle. Enter all the details carefully.

Step 7: Add Books to your Child Kindle Account

At last, you need to add books to the Kindle profile of your child. You can add books directly from the Kindle device by accessing the Parental dashboard on Amazon or from Amazon Household. This is the step where you choose which media your child can access. You can add more books to the Kindle account at any time when you want. For this, you need to open the settings and tap on “Household and Family Library”. After that, click on the person symbol which is next to the child profile to access the “Library” and then select the books that you want to grant access to child.

Click on the Start button once you are ready for your child's profile to go live. Launch the child profile which is safe to use for your child. One thing that you need to remember is that you need to exit from the child profile by entering the parental controls password once it is ready to start.

By following the above-mentioned steps, you can set up Kindle for child and keep some books off from your child.
